Bandar seri begawan: The Ministry of Religious Affairs, in conjunction with the Mosque Affairs Department, the Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Mosque Takmir Committee, and Radio Television Brunei, is hosting the Opening of Tadarus Al-Qur'an Ceremony for mosques, surau, and religious halls nationwide. The event commenced at the Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital on the night of February 18th.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Awang Haji Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs. This was succeeded by the Tadabbur Al-Qur'an and the reading of Surah Al-Baqarah. The event was graced by the presence of Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.
