Possessing Health and Cosmetics Products Without Permit

Tutong: An Indonesian woman has been ordered to pay a fine of BND8,610 Brunei Dollars for storing and possessing taxable health and cosmetic products without a valid permit. The incident involved 47-year-old Astutik, who was apprehended on the 24th of August 2023 by officers from the Royal Customs and Excise Department and the Ministry of Health at Kampung Serambangun, Tutong.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Astutik faced three charges related to 1,058 units of health and cosmetics products from various brands. The authorities seized all the products, which have been handed over to the government for disposal. The fine imposed serves as a stern reminder of the importance of adhering to regulations surrounding the possession and storage of taxable goods in the country.
