Berakas: The young generation as future leaders need to study and understand the country's history in achieving independence. The Minister of Religious Affairs, explained that it is important to be studied either formally or informally. Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Awang Haji Othman, explained this at the Semarak Hari Kebangsaan Ceremony in conjunction with the 42nd Brunei Darussalam National Day organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was jointly organised by the Islamic Da'wah Centre, Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, as well as the Policy and Strategic Division and Syarie Prosecutors Division, Ministry of Religious Affairs. The ceremony took place at the International Convention Centre, Berakas, on the morning of 28th February.
