Bandar seri begawan: The Safety, Health and Environment National Authority (SHENA) has announced enforcement actions following inspections at various worksites in Bandar Seri Begawan. These actions were taken after identifying contraventions of specific safety regulations.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the first enforcement action was carried out at a renovation worksite in Jalan Menteri Besar. The violation pertained to Regulation 4 concerning the provision of first-aid boxes under the Workplace Safety and Health (First-Aid) Regulations. A compound fine of BND500 was issued and subsequently settled. The responsible individual has since implemented measures to address the non-compliance.
Additionally, SHENA conducted an inspection at a construction worksite in Gadong, resulting in enforcement action for violating Regulation 6 regarding the designation of a Workplace Safety and Health Co-ordinator under the Workplace Safety and Health (Construction) Regulations. This infraction resulted in a BND1,000 fine, which has been settled. Measures have been taken by the responsible party to rectify the non-compliance.
Further enforcement action was taken following an inspection at a construction worksite in Berakas 'A'. This involved a breach of Regulation 4 concerning the provision of first-aid boxes under the Workplace Safety and Health (First-Aid) Regulations. A BND500 fine was imposed and settled. The responsible individual has undertaken corrective measures to address the issue.
