Bandar seri begawan:The sighting of the new moon for Ramadhan 1447 Hijrah is set to be conducted nationwide on Tuesday, 29th Syaaban 1447 Hijrah, which corresponds to February 17, 2026. Syarie judges and officers from the Syariah Courts, State Judiciary Department, Prime Minister's Office, along with officers from the Survey Department, Ministry of Development, will oversee the process at several designated locations.

According to Radio Television Brunei, in the Brunei Muara District, the moon sighting will be carried out at the Mutiara Exchange Building, Tanjung Batu Recreational Park, and Bukit Agok. In the Tutong District, the designated location is the Bukit Ambog Hilal Building, while in the Belait District, the Bukit Lumut Hilal Building will serve as the observation point. The public is asked to cooperate by staying away from these areas during the sighting. The announcement of the 1st of Ramadhan 1447 Hijrah/2026 will be broadcast on Radio Television Brunei as soon as the sighting results are confirmed.
