Strengthening Islam Through Continuous Guidance

Bandar seri begawan: There are many reasons why someone embraces Islam, including falling in love with the messages in the verses of the Al-Quran, hadiths, and the way of life. Some convert to Islam to marry a Muslim man or woman. However, Islam accepts a person regardless of their motivation, as long as it is done consciously, willingly, and without coercion, making the conversion valid. Life as a new convert is not easy, and continuous guidance is crucial to ensure that faith is strengthened and the teachings of Islam are truly internalized.

According to Radio Television Brunei, among the main challenges faced by new converts is adapting to Islamic practices and lifestyles. The process of learning and change usually occurs in stages and requires time, patience, guidance, and ongoing support so that new converts can embrace Islam with confidence, calmness, and consistency.

The Islamic Da'wah Centre plays a major role in helping new converts overcome challenges by implementing systematic religious education to shape the personality of each new convert. The role of the community is also vital, by being open, caring, sharing knowledge, and involving new converts in religious and community activities.
