Bandar seri begawan: The Sunat Hajat Prayer, Reading of Surah Yasin, and Special Doa ceremony for the health and well-being of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam continued at Istana Nurul Iman on the night of January 17th. This event follows a similar ceremony that took place nationwide on Thursday evening, corresponding to the 26th of Rejab 1447 or January 15th, 2026.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony was graced by the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, and other Members of the Royal Family. The Royal Family was received by key figures including Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Awang Haji Badaruddin, Minister of Religious Affairs; Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham, Minister of Health, along with their spouses.
The primary purpose of the Sunat Hajat Prayer, Surah Yasin reading, and Special Doa was to seek Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala's blessings for His Majesty's health. The prayers were specifically aimed at ensuring that His Majesty's medical procedures proceed smoothly and that he is granted immediate healing, perfect health, and lasting well-being.
Additionally, the event was attended by Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, and their spouses, underscoring the significance of the occasion for the nation.
