Foreign Nationals Sentenced for Immigration Act Violations

Bandar seri begawan: Three foreigners have been sentenced under the Immigration Act, Chapter 17, for overstaying in the country after their immigration passes expired.

According to Radio Television Brunei, a Bangladeshi man, Md Rusna, received a sentence of five months imprisonment and three strokes of whipping. His sentence commenced on 16th December 2025.

Additionally, an Indonesian woman, Abiyar Rista Yufrindah, was sentenced to five months imprisonment and fined BND800. Due to her inability to pay the fine, her sentence was extended by one month, resulting in a total of six months imprisonment. Her sentence began on 24th December 2025.

Meanwhile, another Indonesian national, Muhamad Waluyo, was sentenced to four months imprisonment and received three strokes of whipping. His sentence also started on 24th December 2025.
