Rites of Sacrifice Ceremony Strengthens Community Bonds

Bandar seri begawan: The Rites of Sacrifice Ceremony, an event aimed at fostering community relationships and promoting social responsibility, was recently held at multiple venues across the region. The ceremony, organized by several institutions, focused on distributing sacrificial meat to the needy, thereby instilling a sense of mutual assistance and concern for the less fortunate.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) was among the key organizers of the event. Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA, took the lead in distributing the sacrificial meat to impoverished residents in the Mukim Keriam area and the UNISSA community. This initiative was mirrored by the Islamic Da'wah Centre, where Awang Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abd Rahman, Acting Director, distributed meat to selected new converts.

The Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB) also held a similar event, with Doctor Haji Abang Hadzmin bin Haji Abang Taha, Acting Deputy RA'ES, overseeing the distribution of meat. In the Skim Tanah Kurnia Rakyat Jati, Kampung Lambak Kiri Mosque Takmir Committee conducted a ceremony under the supervision of Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubaarak bin Pengiran Haji Hashim, Acting Brunei Muara District Officer, distributing meat and donations to the poor and needy.

The Kedayan Malay Association, in partnership with the Kampung Bukit Panggal and Kampung Luagan Dudok Consultative Councils, organized a similar ceremony. This distribution was officiated by Awangku Arif Anuar bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad, Acting Tutong District Officer. Additionally, Brunei Gas Carriers collaborated with the Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque Takmir Committee and the Kampung Jerudong A and B Consultative Council to host the Rites of Sacrifice and Aqiqah ceremony, distributing meat to village residents.

In Tutong Town, the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque Takmir Committee also held a ceremony, distributing sacrificial meat to selected poor and destitute asnaf, participants, and the general public, further reinforcing the communal spirit of the event.
