Berlin: His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received His Excellency Dr. Johann Wadephul, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, in an audience ceremony held in Berlin. During the meeting, His Majesty discussed Brunei's role as the current Country Coordinator for ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations and Germany's request to become an ASEAN Sectoral Dialogue Partner.

According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty expressed satisfaction with the recent 25th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting hosted by Brunei Darussalam, which emphasized the strategic direction of the ASEAN-EU partnership. His Majesty also highlighted the importance of Germany's support for ASEAN's climate agenda, notably through the ASEAN Centre for Climate Change.

The discussions between His Majesty and His Excellency Dr. Wadephul included matters of mutual interest, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and Germany. The discussions covered various fields, including security, defence, education, energy, agriculture, and Information Technology.
