Bandar seri begawan: The Halal Food Control Division of the Syariah Affairs Department, under the Ministry of Religious Affairs, received a complaint regarding the sale of Yueyou brand brushes at a local supermarket. These brushes are suspected to be made from pig bristles. Following a thorough analysis by the Scientific Services Department of the Ministry of Health, it has been confirmed that the Yueyou brand brushes indeed contain pig bristles.

According to Radio Television Brunei, in response to this finding, the Syariah Affairs Department has instructed the business owner to segregate the Yueyou brand brushes from other products and restrict their sale to the non-halal section of the store. To protect the welfare of the Muslim community, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a reminder to entrepreneurs, traders, suppliers, and importers. They are urged to exercise heightened vigilance and sensitivity regarding imported goods and products marketed to the public, ensuring that all items sold are pure, clean, and free from non-halal materials.
